What's In Your Deck #11

My Top 5 Music Picks
1. DJ Quik f. B-Real–"Fandango"
The Quiksters is back! This reminds me of some old school Quik. The up tempo beat is catchy and his flow is tight. I’m ready for the album now!

2. Omarion–"Touch"
There’s always one person in a group who stands out so much (Beyonce, Justin, etc.), that when they go solo you forget all about the group that they started with. Omarion has joined the club and this Neptune produced song just solidified his spot.

3. Little Brother–"Ain’t Nobody Like Me"
Sing it with me… “Ain’t nobody like meeeee!!!!” The boys are back… Big “the truth when he steps in the booth” Pooh, Phonte, featuring O-Dash spitting, Darien Brockington on the hook and Illmind on the beat. This song features an introspective look at the after effects of fame and their continuing efforts dealing with notoriety.

4. Oowee f. Snoop–"Why Cry"
Typical rapper, rapping about typical things, over a slightly better than typical beat, but the song is infectious. And it doesn’t hurt that he’s a little cutie.

5. Charlie Wilson–"My name is Charlie"
Yes, it’s produced by the R. So yes, it sounds just like him, but Uncle Charlie (Pronounced Chah-lay) makes it sound good! May not be a pop hit, but the older more seasoned smooth music lovers will appreciate it.

Bonus: Fatboy Slim–"Wonderful Night"
This is just a fun song. I was reminded of this song a couple weeks ago and I’ve been singing it ever since. Because he always gives all of himself I would call him soulful and this song proves that. He’s rapping on this one and it’s not too shabby, if I may say so myself.

I've rediscovered Amy Winehouse. Other than that, now that I'm no longer downloading, I'm not listening to anything cutting edge, except for whatever they play on 1Xtra and the BBC

Sade: (entire CD)
Seal: (Kiss of Rose double CD - the bomb)
Mikkey: You aint scared of REvolution is you? [I find myself quoting that, no plug]
Game: Ya Ya, it's true tho, I promote what I luv: Dreams

I was going to get Fantasia, or some of these new acts, but I am going to wait on Kanye's album and then rock that. I am really tired of these bubble gum singers who cant sing worth a damn.
