My partner-in-crime, DJ Marc Smooth, just set off this LOVELY after-work party he's calling ... uh ... what's it called again? Hold on, lemme find out ...Okay. It's a LOVELY after-work shindig he's calling Soul Patch. It's at the B1 Drink Club, 139 East 45th Street between 3rd and Lexington, on the second floor. It's an ill Japanese influenced spot, really really sexy, with some type of outdoor Zen rock garden, awesome food, and, get this: FREE VODKA FROM 5:00PM to 6:30PM. I'm not even making a dime off this extra promotional big-up, so don't think I'm endorsing something wack for change. NEVER THAT. It's just such a sexy, magical spot. And oh yeah ... did I mention Marc Smooth and DJ Center are KILLING it on the soul tip? Well, they are. Check it out.

Freedom Friday was off the meat rack. Ridiculous. 700 people clicked through, and each and every one of them sang Wham's "Everything She Wants," Human League's "Don't You Want Me Baby" and Biggie's "I Got a Story to Tell." And let's not even talk about what happened early in the evening when I laced the birthday girls with Appolonia's "Sex Shooter." Crazy. AND WAIT. You should've seen what happened when Cosi dropped Sizzla's "Just One of Those Days"!!! BANANAS! Rewind! Pull Up! Crazy. This Friday, it's going to be, if possible, crazier. Francis Poku, the undisputed crown prince of Ghana, is bringing his ... 37th birthday to Freedom. If you amember what happend last year at Starfoods, you won't wanna miss this one. His crowd loves and respects the classics, knows every old school Keith Sweat/New Edition dance move ever recorded, and will generally dance on top of the speakers if you let 'em.

Big up to Mazi who sets off the dance circle every week, not-to-mention the free record love. Big up to Erikka Harley and the rest of the birthdays I forget for really setting it off! Big shout out to our regulars who have been there since the get-go (Mr. Phillips), not-to-mention the new found fans that have just joined the family (the Clique Models--they'll prolly be back). Again, this week will be crazy, and as it gets warmer, only crazier, so please make an effort to get there on the early side of things so you don't have to wait to get in.

Saturdays at Social Club is jumping off once again. Best believe Herbert's manning the 1s and 2s fo sho, special guest or not. Special guest it was indeed this past week with DJ ACE rolling through for a blessing or two. He does not play around. His "crew" includes one guy for every record crate, one girl for every guy for every record crate, one friend of one girl for every guy for every record crate, and they ALL have "DJ Ace" jackets. Crazy. Wait ... he's even got one guy that mans the freaking transportable bullhorn!!!! Next level.

Sunday I took my wife to the Flower Show in Philly. It was really really nice. You know Herbert had to put together a little bouquet of his own for the little Mrs., so I can flex my flowery arts. It had some tulips, some yellow roses, eucalyptus, and these little mini roses. I know, ladies. I know. I'm a dream come true: Cool, handsome, smart, sweet, and in touch with my feminine side. BUT TOO BAD. I'm lock down. 25 to life. Willfully.
