Oooooohh. I almost did it, y'all. I was this close to telling you that "the dog ate my Holler." I mean, yo. For real? The dog really did almost eat the Holler. I have been grinding so hard, even a trip to 80-degree Florida for a few days of golf and seafood didn't feel like it did anything. (You know you're in the dang Sunshine State when you drive by a sign that reads " Outdoor Recreation Festival, January 15th.") First of all, I have proof. CHECK THE CLUBS SECTION OF THIS WEEK'S TIME OUT MAGAZINE. Do it. Go now. Turn to page 70. Check out the "Freaks Come Out at Night" thing. And don't sweat me too hard.

I told you. I told you that Freedom wasn't a joke. It's VERY serious. This Friday, January 14 th, at Discotheque, 17 West 21st Street between 5th and 6th Avenues, the best dance club of 2004 (voted on Citysearch), Freedom will be moving on up like George and Weezy, only to the west-er side of things, and blowing up like Mt. Vesuvias. We already have a TON of ray-pon-day -ses, and a TON of buzz (also check out www.clubplanet.com), and a TON of fun in store. The sound system is absolutely ridiculous, the dance floor spacious, the back lounge intimate, the deejays off-the-hook (of course). Big thanks to all the people that made our last Friday at Starfoods really, really nice. We were seriously grooving HARD, I tell you, with joints like Odyssey's "Inside Out," Stevie's "I Wish" and Eric B. and Rakim's "Know the Ledge," and y'all

didn't leave till 4:30 in the AM. Even with a shiddy sound system!!!

But that was then. Discotheque is now. SEE YOU THERE! (Plus ... it's my b-day!!!)

Then the other reason my dog almost ate the Holler ... my apartment. Wifey and me came dang near close to not closing. Dang near close, and only cuz I had trouble getting a certified bank check. But ... we closed! It's a wrap. Brooklyn-bound. 718. The home of Biggie, Jay and Herbert! (Okay. So maybe the Time Out piece has gone to my head a little bit.) I am so dang excited about moving and actually having a real home to call home. I am not so dang excited about painting it, but ahhh. Whatever. It'll be fun. I love light pinks and muted yellows and all those lovely passsstels my wife has in store! (Lord help me.)

Speaking of the Mrs., she just landed ANOTHER opera. This one's called Samson. So that would make it 4 this year so far: Tannheuser, Turandot, Faust and the latest one. Go 'head, young lady. Do the dang thing. And then come home and do the dang thing in the kitchen. JUST KIDDING. I didn't mean it. Just joking. At least do the dishes, though.

It was nice being back at Social Club, especially since they cleared out more room for the dance floor. This reggae-ton crew called "Mosa" came in and tore the place up, and then Jay Gatzby and friends stayed on the floor till the end, not leaving till Michael Jackson's "Rock With You" faded out. Big shout out to Jinx Paul, DJ Cee-Lo, DJ Wicked Wayne (my brother from another mother) and anybody else I forgot to shout to.
