What's In Your Deck #8
Your Top 5 Music Picks
1. Snoop Dogg f. Pharrell Williams-"Drop It Like It's Hot" (Star Trak)
My favorite part is the drawn out "Snnooooooooop" yodel. Reminds me of Sir Mix-A-Lot's "Square Dance Rap."
2. Keyshia Cole's-"I Changed My Mind" (Interscope)
The lastest "I'm feed up with your BS" anthem.
3. Masta Ace-"Bklyn Masala" (Yosumi/M3)
Great storytelling. Got hipped to this from one of DJ Oh So Kool's many great Suga Treats mixes.
4. N.O.R.E. f. Daddy Yankee, Nina Sky, Gem Star & Big Mato-"Oye Mi Canto" (Roc-a-fella/Def Jam)
Boriqua, Morena, Dominicano, Colombiano!
5. Ja Rule f. Fat Joe and Jadakiss-"New York" (Inc./Def Jam)
Caught me ear when I heard it at a beach party in Miami. Catchy hooks get me every time.

Dwele Hold On (Eff a John Legend until I hear something better than this album... or anything previously done by D'Angelo, R-uh, Jon B, etc)
I used to feel the same way about "Hold On" until I heard Eric Roberson do the original. But I do have a version of Dwele singing "Is it possible," before Raheem Devaughn, that he killed.
Gamma: "Got a story to tell" is my fav too!

Crazy you mention dude... I used to cuff with that damn DJ Jazzy Jeff BBE Release so hard, and there was this one song featuring this cat that went by the name 'erro'... I'm thinkin who IS this dude???
My guy hits me up a few weeks ago like, YO! You need to cuff with this Eric Roberson... come to find out its the same cat...
?BabyGirl? --- Does his version/the original 'Hold On' go by the same name? Did Kanye produce Hold On? Or was he just featured as an artist on that remix?
BTW... that Van Hunt song about makin mistakes with his woman (Here in Hell with you or something) is that piff...

This is what I've been rotating in the changer lately:
1. SWV/Use Your Heart-Pharrell and Chad
were doing there thing back then and
half of us didn't even know!
2. Eric Benet/Love of My Own-I'm not at
home now so I'm not able to give the
title of the album but it's the last
song on his last album. James Poy-
ser and Vikter Dupluex(sp) did the
damn thing with the production on
this beautiful love song. Matter of
fact- truth be told, I think it's
the best song on the album.
3. Little Brother/Come Around- Yep, it
still remains a staple in the
changer. I've gotta pick up
Nicolay's album(producer of the Lit-
tle Brother album)"City Lights".
Heard that's hot too!
4. Marvin Gaye/Hear My Dear- No words
express how I feel about this man.
Jay-Z knows nothing about making
songs cry like this man and his
voice. I remember being like 8yrs.
old, watching the news and hearing
about his death; having tears in my
eyes. Thank you mom and dad for
keeping me up on school nights, drown
ing my little ears out with the
sound of Marvin and 'em...
5. Mobb Deep/ The Infamous-Drink Away
The Pain is just one of my favorites.
Maybe 'cause sometimes I really wish
I could.
