1. K-Os's Joyful Rebellion. Very good stuff. Reminiscent of Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill. I missed out on his first album but I'm really a fan of this one.

2. Sweetback's debut album. I just found this again. From the cats responsible for Sade and Maxwell's music.

3. Rupee's "Tempted To Touch." I saw ol' boy perform and it was incredible. Showmanship, charisma, and energy. A million dollar show, think Sean Paul to the 10th power. He's the Julio Engelias of Soca, cause the ladies love them some Rupee.

4. El Gant mixtape. Heartfelt lyrics over today's most popular beats. Definitely looking forward to his take on the ups and downs of a music career.

5. Usher Confessions

Gonna purchase Jill Scott, Anita Baker, new Sweetback album and possibly anything else ya'll recommend when my money aint so funny.

Yeah Ray, I think we need to thank Sean Paul again for undeniably bringing and putting regggae back on the map 'cause it was laying dormaint for a minute.

A lot of folks slept on K-Os's first joint to.

That "Tempted to Touch" song by Rupee is hot and most def. a club hit.

De La Soul "The Grind Date" LP: great new effort from Pos, Dave, and Trugoy with guest appearances from Ghostface, Common, Carl Thomas, Flava Flav and MF Doom.

Jill Scott "Beautifully Human": this is just another one of those albums everyone should have.

Bad Brains "I Against I": this is a throwback punk album with soul. give it a listen when you really need to get hyped.

Garnett Silk "The Definitive Collection": the late great had one of the best voices reggae music has ever seen. check for this on the Itunes music store.

Handsome Boy Modeling School "White People": Prince Paul and Dan the Automator come correct with this new release on Elektra. Worth it for the skits alone. Hilarious! thanks Paul.

Hey Cinz, you took me back a little wit the Joe Sample/Lalah Hathaway...I loooooove that cd, it's so calming and peaceful.

I wouldn't say that Conya Doss has been slept on as of yet...give it a minute, you'll see; better yet, they'll see. I thought folks where going to sleep on Anthony Hamilton when he (debued/debuted(sp.):-) but it just took a minute for people to recognize as I'm sure they will with Miss Conya Doss. Her voice is so
beautiful; the raspyness of her voice kind of remind's me off "Davina" but a little more polished. I wish that a lot of male/female artist would realize that you don't have to riff the hell outta every other word in a song to be considered a "good singer"

2. DJ Neoteric - The The B-Side: Indie Cent Exposure... amazing mix from this Vancouver DJ who's down with Low Presure. Bumped this solid for the whole summer...
3. John Smith - Pinky's Laundromat - Great beats from mcenroe at Peanuts & Corn... atmosphere is sombre
4. Curbside Prawjek - The Mean Streets of your warm house ... I toured with the guy, so I'm biased... but I dig and can feel the influence of Del.
5. Camobear Records - New Recruits... a nice compilation of vets... falls a bit short of their true skill level.

Anthony Hamilton, one of NC's finest. The brotha just got SOUL. Makes you feel it like you stumped your toe or something. Why? (Jada) will put him on to the young/hip hop heads. But real music lovers know what's up....

Lalah/Joe: When I want a nice Pinot Noir, and some reflection, and maybe a tear or two...that's the one that gets the bottom lip trembling. Beautiful! I miss Lalah...however she did finesse the Meshell Ndgeocello joint (Earth)...

I did not know that was Lalah on Meshell's 'Earth'. I don't have the albumn, just a 3 single snippet type thing that I got a couple yrs. ago. That song in particular; always has me imagining I'm sitting on the tip of Venus, swinging my feet, watching the caos on earth while sipping on a lil' sumptin.
