Monalisa:
I disagree with you about the Ying Yang Twins. I think both the YYT and Lil' Jon are incredible case studies in perserverence.
When I first heard their stuff, I thought it was corny and they wouldn't be around next year. I'm sure other people felt the same way. That didn't stop them.
They're not all the way there but they do occupy a unique niche in today's music scene. Their gimmicky lyrics and expressions are memorable. And they're music, IMO, is infectious. They've distanced themselves from the pack despite not being the most handsome cats in this "looks" first influenced industry.
These cats are very shrewd and it's gonna be interesting how much farther they go. Can they leverage they're gimmicks to superstar status?

Ray:
I just think the Ying Yang Twins are overly hyped, based on the popularity of one song. When I first heard their music ("Smoke/Drank By Myself", "Whistle While You Twerk", etc.), I got a kick out of them. But I didn't hear much else until Get Low dropped, and after reading their interviews and watching them in videos and on TV, I had serious doubts about their longevity. My opinion is that if not for Lil Jon and "Get Low", there wouldn't be much hype on them.
Lil Jon is a great artist/producer, and I dont think he's over hyped at all - he's the man behind a lot of hit records this year, after being in the game for many years doing A&R and production. Some of his songs sound identical to me, but he's where Kanye was in 2003 and where Pharell & The Neptunes were in 2002.
Lil Jon continue to rise in popularity and will keep dropping hit songs, but I dont know if I believe that the Ying Yang Twins will become superstars - unless they do a majority of their future songs and albums with Lil Jon's production.
