Comments: Perspective: Vinia Mojica

An astonishing vocalist! I heard a song with Ge-ology and fell in love - keep it u - when will you be in LA?

It's the girl from the 'Saturday" Video!

Five days you work
One whole day to play
Come on everybody, wear your rollerskates today
It’s Saturday, Saturday
Saturday, it’s Saturday
Saturday, it’s Saturday
Saturday, it’s Saturday-ay

I always wondered who she was!

Look at you!!! You've come such a long way from Queens. I believe the last time I saw you was at the SASSY photoshoot. Anyway, whenever I talk to my brother I try to get an update on you. But it always does me proud to hear your voice on anything and everything. How very proud I am of you. Can't wait for that album of yours to come out. I've been looking for it since the first time I heard you sing. Was it at the Girl Scouts? Hell, I can't remember. Anyway, if you do come to L.A. look up your childhood buddy will ya? Give my best to your sister and all the ole St. Rita's folks if you still see/talk to them. Asya, I owe you an email. I promised at the ERRO show that I'd holla. Sorry, I've been neglectful.

It's great to see the body of work in one place. That Andy Milne was incredible. I've been looking for more product since Sands of Time. You're very necessary in this industry. Respect.

Vinia is great. Glad to see that she stays on her grind. I checked her out a while back at S.O.B.'s at a show with Jeni Fujita. The new material was refreshing and I've been fiendin' for a full length ever since. Don't mean to rush ya...but er...we want an LP. Keep up the good work and look forward to hearing more of your music.

So nice to see something on Vinia. I've been a fan since first hearing you on the early De La stuff. If you are ever in Chicago...we'd LOVE to have you as a guest on our show. Email me at tj1108@hotmail.com if by chance you are coming through in the future.

Mugshot magazine did an article on Vinia. It's always a pleasure to have some news about you. Also people in Paris France remember you. Good luck for the future.

Vinia, you know you're the first Queen Of Hip Hop Soul, right? You were an inspiration to us young b-girls tryin to sing along to the Native Tongue joints...I've been a fan since '89 girl - "the red's for the blood and the black's for the man...the green is the color that stands for the land..." but my favorite (next to Saturdays of course) is "oooh, ya got it goin' on... this aint an R&B song...ya got it goin on...and on and on and on..." I wanna hear some ALL VINIA new millenium jawns. Peace & Blessings to you Queen :) I'm bout to go put on Low End Theory...
