Desktop Support Technician

Summary:

Accepting, acting on and resolving service desk tickets within the defined service level agreements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Accepting and resolving tickets using a web based ticket system.
2. Maintaining hardware and software inventory
3. Coordinate with vendors regarding warranty work
4. Troubleshoot problems with desktops, printing, basic network connectivity and application functionality
5. Maintains a broad knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and patch levels
6. Provide solutions to streamline process regarding support calls
7. Attend Training courses for continuing education
8. Attend and actively participate in weekly meetings

Requirements:

1. 2+ years experience in desktop support (MCP Preferred)
2. Knowledge of TCP/IP and its functionality
3. Advanced knowledge and troubleshooting of Windows Server XP Service pack 1 and 2
4. Strong analytical/problem solving skills
5. Ability to manage and meet deadlines
6. Good interpersonal skills, with ability to work across functional lines, and at many levels.
7. Strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills. (written & oral),
8. Ability to work on assigned tasks independently and assesses and executes with minimal direction
9. Experience with hardware troubleshooting
10. Familiar with Change Management Concepts
11. Must be self motivated, punctual, a team player and resourceful
