Vibe Vixen, a bi-monthly fashion, beauty, and lifestyle magazine serving stylish young women, is looking for a dynamic, experienced Fashion Editor. The ideal candidate will have extensive on-set styling experience, employee management experience, and be able to juggle and meet tight deadlines. Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to conceive of and execute innovative, cutting-edge, engaging concepts. Must also possess fashion-industry contacts and resources in ready-to-wear and couture clothing and accessories (from Roc-a-Wear to Louboutin) markets for women. Candidates with fashion writing and editing experience are preferred. Should have good energy as well as passion for the audience and the brand.

Responsibilities include:
-Give Editor-in-Chief editorial fashion calendar for the year.
-Conceptualize stories that meet the editorial calendar.
-Forecast key trends for each season.
-Decide/maintain the creative influence and direction determined during each season/issue.
-Meet all editorial deadlines for fashion department; monitor fashion budget.
-Manage fashion assistant and fashion interns.
-Write/edit copy for all fashion stories/pages if needed.
-Style and supervise all shoots for cover and inside of book.
-Supervise verification of all necessary credits on final products selected.
-Work closely with the photo and art departments to conceptualizevisual s for all fashion stories.
-Work closely with Advertising department. Go on call with ad director as requested.
-Ensure placement of key advertisers within editorial content, when appropriate.
-Attend fashion/trade shows and press events.
-Possess extensive database of fashion-industry contacts and relationships.
-Build and maintain relationships with fashion-industry insiders,showrooms and PR firms on behalf of magazine.
-Suggest talent to photo department for bookings. Have knowledge about specific expertise of these individuals for certain types of shoots/stories.
-Must have comprehensive knowledge of urban, ready-to-wear, and couture clothing and accessories markets for women and men.
-Must stay abreast of style trends of young urban woman.
-Must have three-five years of management experience.
-Must have 10 years of fashion and styling experience.
-Must have degree or equivalent in fashion.
