Audience Development/Communications Department

20-30 Hours/week

Responsible for community outreach and targeted marketing efforts for the following:
· BAM Rhythm & Blues Festival at MetroTech in downtown Brooklyn - a series of free concerts held every Thursday afternoon June – August
· Senior Cinema – a free, bi-monthly movie series for seniors at BAM Rose Cinemas

Specific responsibilities include:
· Work with Public Relations Associate to develop strategic plan to target appropriate communities and distribute brochures/display posters to attract audiences;
· Coordinate grass roots marketing efforts for BAM Rhythm & Blues Festival at MetroTech;
· Establish a system to distribute information on free concerts on a weekly basis, and organize volunteers and staff to canvas neighborhoods prior to each concert or activity;
· Organize the transportation, set-up and staffing of the BAMbooth at all events;
· Organize the transportation, set-up and staffing of the BAMbooth at various Brooklyn sites to promote the free concerts and BAM in general;
· Promote free film series to senior centers and community organizations serving the elderly;
· Manage Senior Cinema events RSVP hotline;
· Generally assist and support audience development and community affairs full time staff;

Requirements:
· Interest in BAM, live music, and film
· Knowledge of Brooklyn and its diverse communities
· Interest in marketing and community affairs
· Ability to work independently
· Experience managing people
· Excellent communication and organizational skills
· Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends and lift moderately heavy boxes
