Housing Works Used Book Café, a non-profit bookstore and café located in SoHo, seeks volunteer Sales Associates for both the Bookstore and the Cafe. Details follow:

* Bookstore Sales Associate

Responsibilities may include shelving books, organizing sections, working behind the counter, and assisting staff members with special projects.

* Café Associate

Responsibilities include making espresso drinks, serving cookies and other light fare, working at the cash register, cleaning, and other duties as necessary.


Housing Works Inc. is a minority-controlled, community-based, not-for-profit organization that provides housing, health care, advocacy and support services to homeless men, women and children living with HIV and AIDS.

The Used Book Café sells donated books, CDs and records, new and used, all at discounted prices. All proceeds from these sales go towards support of Housing Works Inc. core programs.

We ask for a minimum commitment of four hours a week, for at least three months. Shifts are available any time we are open, including nights and weekends; however, particular we have particular need to fill weekday shifts.
