Light from Light Films is seeking an intern to support the production of Learning from Bob and Denise, a documentary on the work and ideas of Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown (http://www.bobanddenise.org).
Responsibilities include:
• Editing clips of raw content (footage of film)
• Converting raw footage into compressed video to publish on website
• Managing images on www.bobanddenise.org
The position requires advanced technical skills. Good knowledge of and experience with Adobe Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, (Advanced) Flash and Macromedia Dreamweaver are necessary. Also, the applicant needs to have an intuitive understanding of computer troubleshooting as much of the tasks involve experimentation. The ideal candidate furthermore demonstrates effective self-management, problem-solving skills, the ability to multi-task, and attention to detail. All work done is part of the Learning from Bob and Denise project.
Located near Union Square, the office is a relaxed, but productive environment. In addition, to working directly with the producer, the candidate will gain insight into the production of a feature-length film and have the chance to see part of the documentary before its release.
This is a part-time job. A stipend ($100 for 20 hours per week) will be provided. The position offers numerous opportunities to learn transferable skills. To apply, please email your resume with cover letter to christina@bobanddenise.org.
Additional qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field, e.g. Computer Science or high school drop-out with GED (preferable).
• Experience with video compression standards for web (QT + Windows Media)
• Basic HTML
• DVD Studio
• Interest in documentary filmmaking
