--Wanna ask something 2--
First, If you didn't like the Sopranos episode it just may be that you did'nt quite understand what they are trying to give us. If you're a long time viewer you know how they slow walk stuff but slow enough for us to follow and it will all have relevance somewhere. (Hell I'm still waiting for the Russian they lost in the woods to retaliate)...So watch it over, the more you notice stuff the more enjoyable.
Question- You know how they always make a character a bit to chatty and irritating (i.e Richie Appreel, Ralphie)? Anyone else get the feeling that Vito fat-faggot ass is headed for a blazing? His character has come right out the gate as annoying and talking to damn much.
Amongst all the other questionable stuff.
sidenote: hope they bring back the one line contest- many good ones last night
also...Uncle June came back last night (best scenes)

I thought last nights Sopranos episode was a classic.
Edie Falco is doing a hell of a job. Shit Jamie (Meadow) and Robert (AJ) too.
The writers hit all the emotional aspects of Tony's looming death. Very well done.
The dream sequence speaks to Tony's character growth from season one to now, but I won't even get into that.
The plot for the takeover is gonna be sick.

I was taken to see this play over the weekend.."Platanos and Collard Greens"
It was real interesting, funny, informative and very real!...
Here is the website: www.platanosandcollardgreens.com
Brief Storyline:
Platanos and Collard Greens tells the story of two college students, Freeman, an African-American man and Angelita, a Latino woman, both forced to confront and overcome cultural and racial prejudices while defending their bond from the biases held by family and friends.
Platanos is a thought-provoking romantic comedy that tactfully addresses stereotypes, prejudices and urban myths that exist between African Americans and Latinos, within the context of Hip-Hop, humor, and satire. The play impels the audience to evaluate pervasive stereotypes. Platanos humorously displays these common, yet outrageous, viewpoints while deftly shooting them down and poetically exposing them as misrepresentations of reality. The audience while laughing out loud, is likely to question conventional attitudes held about themselves and others.
Sidenote: (I went with my P.R. Homie, some P.R girls) It left us fucked up when we left the play because no B.S..We do have some views on each others Cultures that are very stereotypical and the play pointed those stereotypes out and the effect it has on both the african american culture and latino culture..So I would like to say..I am working on myself (and my P.R. homeboy too) and we will no longer make any comments and jokes towards each other.
P.S. but two more last jokes...
What did the judge say to the PuertoRican??..Will the Defendant please rise!!
What section do the Latinos sit at in Yankee Stadium...Section 8!!

please get into that. i've been dying to discuss what that means.
*SPOILER*
i took the dream sequence to be about fate. a running theme thruoghout the show has been carm dealing with her husband's choices, him chosing to be a mobster, Tony going to hell for his actions, her worrying about all of thier souls etc. and seemingly accidently, all Tony's shit has caught up with him in the worst possible way. he's probably not gonna die which is likely better than being a living vegatable and all that he's worked for is going to piss. in the dream sequence, Tony is living the average straight and narrow, legal life that Carm been saying all along that she wanted. his kids are great, his wife is an ass, but not in a good way, he's on the road by himself alot. he's a nice dude, passive, even gets slapped by a monk, feels bad about doing shit the real tony wouldn't (using the other dude's identity) and even though he made the "right" choices, he still falls down some steps and ends up with amnesia, ie the early stages of a veggie life. it's like no matter what you do, the end result is the same, so you might as well do what you want....

Oh I'm so feeling you here SCRIBE. To me the dream sequence represents the divide of the man Tony could be (had either not got involved in the life period or heeded the warning/advice of his therapist) and the reality of who he is. In his dream he has everything he wants...a loving family that he believes in (this is the mans core delema...due to his history and circumstance he can't bring himself to trust anyone...especially his family...with his uncle and mom plotting to kill him.) Esteem from collegues that has nothing to do with fear, but instead genuine respect. He's able to be vulnerable without having the world come crashing down on him (he gets hit and lets the dude go and loses absolutely no face because of it)...something that he has been worrying about since the beginning of the show and starting therapy.
I could read into the dream sequence all damn day...
The show was really really great.

don't be scary....30 is great! You become too old for bullshit but still young enough to enjoy life!! Since "black don't crack"....you have yet to live!! My uncle told me the other day that life doesn't truly start until you hit 21 (old enough to drink, old enough to listen). So according to him, I've been alive for 10 years! Think of life in terms of that and shit starts to seem real easy. BTW, I am now a member of the Eastern Athletic Club, Brooklyn!! 4 locations - 3 in BK and 1 in Tribeca (some locations in LI but I'm not too interested in that, sorry). Initiation fee is $49 (from $350) and $98 a month for access to all locations...don't know for how long but anyplace that has a Pool (at all locations), Tai Chi, Capoeira, and Boot Camp seems like what's poppin!! I think it depends on the workout...but according to this
article it's best to cool down before going into the steam room (after exercise).
