Did anybody catch the story about the African American officer shooting the guy in the military. There talking about giving him 20 yrs...not that I condone his actions but would a white cop have received so many years?
And what about all the past beatings that are not on record from the 50's-70's...I have heard some pretty wild stories from my uncles and family members

i'm assuming he shot a white dude?
white cops who shoot black people or even black officers for any reason usually get administrative leave with pay.
why did the cop shoot the officer or why did he say he shot him?

It is a sad case. That black cop ruined his life because the adrenalin and instinct that he was trained to use overwhelmed him. He had just finished chasing these guys in a corvette, he was alone, at night. The tape is what doomed him. He clearly told the gentleman to get up. The gentleman complied and he shot him. If there was no tape, he would have gotten away with it. They took a month to listen to that tape 20,000 times to realize that the cop was wrong. I think that is more fucked up. Cops never admit to be wrong. Supervisors will cover for anyone. If there was no tape, the guy would have no case. Cops are protected, even when they are wrong. Thats why it took so long. they were trying to find some millisecond on that tape to justify the shooting, and they couldn't. I knew it was wrong the first time I saw it.

I can't wait! I started the MC at 130lbs. and now I'm at 112.5lbs. I can barely fit my clothes (thank the Lawd for the little bit of boonkey I have left). Funny thing is, I feel great! Light like a feather!! And I can't wait to see what I'm allergic to this time!! (Last time, it was beer!)

there is this girl in my office who just broke up with her boyfriend for two years about two months ago because he was frontin on them gettin married (and he was the one who brought up getting married their first year together).
she's been all up in arms about it for a while. i basically tell her "he's not worth your time, stop answering the phone when he calls, put a code name over his number to remind you not to pick up the phone (scribe taught me that one)," the usual uplift the girlfriend speak.
now, she's jonesin over this dude in our office who she went to school with. They text all the time, she's in his cube all the time, she's already admitted to me that she likes him and that he's her "type". i think she's just setting herself up for a fall - since he already has a girlfriend.
I wanna say something to her about just backing off a bit - but i don't wanna look like i'm in her business. do i do anything? or do i just let her fall?
whew, that felt good to get off my chest.

She really ain't your girl, so mind your business in the new city new job. Ole girl needs to go back and soul search with Nervous Ned and figure out if they are lovers or just "in love." If she's mad at him for not commiting, that is traditional, if she just wants to get dicked out real fast by an involved coworker, that is traditional as well. None of it will make YOUR life better.

See, thanks for asking. No my part is not just limited to the pulpit. I have a pretty decent speaking part. I am by no means the star of the film but I had a few pages to memorize if you know what I mean.

Depends on a couple of things. 1) How friendly are you guys and 2) Will you feel guilty if you don't say anything.
I'm the type of friend that tells it like it is...mostly because I don't have time to be listening to sob stories of misfortune later on. If I feel like something isn't good for you...I will tell you...you do what you want. But all my friends no better than to come cry to me after they decided to be hardheaded. They go on permanent mute.

technically, I have been eating but not solid food. I've been drinking "liquid food" for 12 days now. Everytime I got hungry, I would drink my tea and be fine for a couple of hours until I was hungry again. When I first started, my 1 Liter thermos would be done by the end of the day...nowadays, by the time 5pm hits, half of my thermos is full.

thanks. And yes I still have a boonkey (something has got to be holding up my pants and I never had hips) lol
When I hit below 110, the boonkey will be gone (trust me, I've been there. my lowest weight was at 103 and I hated it). I've been on the Master cleanser for 12 days so far. People who see me are like, "damn. you gotta stop it now. it's too much." but they don't want me to give up either, especially since I'm almost done.
Like I tell everyone else, don't worry. When I gain the weight back, the boonkey will look better than ever (and so will my 3 and a half pack!)
FROGS: you gotta hit me with a copy of the movie or something! I don't think I want to wait until it goes to DVD.

I'm totally confused -- 6 figures of his-- he gave you dough? I mean either way it sounds like you need to leave him alone -- but don't mess with his money -- that could mean him messing with your life.
And if "making yourself feel better" means cheating -- don't do that either. Be the bigger person.

you have the money, he rarely calls. how gangsta is dude? like light-weight or on some serious shit (i'm assuming light-weight by the way he is handling the situation). i'm thinking if he's leaving the money with you and he ain't treating you decent, he can't be that concerned about the money. maybe there is plenty more where that came from.
since possession in nine-tenths of the law and if the money was legal on his end, it would be in an account somewhere so you wouldn't be holding it (ie the law ain't getting involved), i say you take the money, do a little short-term investing, stop answering the phone when dude calls. give it 90 days to see if he completley flips out and if no, put it in an IRA. make him invest in you. ta-da!
