The entire system is set up against a teacher. My homegirl is a NYC teacher getting her masters in Guidance...the stories she shares are just crazy. Its hard to understand the value of an education when you've never really gotten a good one yourself. Plus there are a lot of factors that low income students face (home issues especially) that can negatively affect the learning process. I didn't know what your profession was...girl we gotta talk via pm about that question you asked me earlier. When I get things more together you gonna be a great asset to me homie!!!

Hey Dimend...I feel you're frustration and I will take a guess the the person you were conversing with isn't a parent?
I have a 8 yr old son in the 3rd grade and I have had to make it a point to tell each teacher he has had that I AM NOT LIKE MOST parents and I DO care...and I never have a problem backing up my actions. I constantly try and think of ways to help the school get parents to just plain GIVE A DAMN.. I am baffled by how some parents don't do their jobs. I don't know how it can be relayed to parents that their children are a reflection of them
When a child grows into an illiterate adult...isn't it the parents fault?

exactly...i mean my son is only 2 years old and he goes 2 a montessori school...every morning when i drop him off and every evening when i pick him i am sure 2 have atleast 5 min of his teachers' time 2 find out his progress...i mean ur child has 2 be ur priority especially his/her education...
